What we record
One thing. When you click through to a tool named on a board, we record four fields:
- tool — which product was clicked
- question — which board it was on
- slot — whether it was the top-ten box or the full table
- time — when
That is the entire record. No IP address, no visitor or session identifier, no referrer, no user agent, no cookie. The table these rows go into has no column that could hold any of them. We count how much traffic the boards send to the tools they name; we cannot tell who sent it, and the store is built so that we could not start without changing its shape.
The click is sent as a fire-and-forget beacon. Blocking it changes nothing about where the link takes you, and the link works with JavaScript switched off.
What leaves the site
- Outbound links. Every tool on a board links to that tool's own site, and carries
a
utm_sourceso they can see the traffic came from here. Once you follow one, their privacy policy applies, not ours. - Fonts. Pages load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the request — including your IP — when a page loads. We are moving this to self-hosted files to remove that.
- Hosting. The site runs on Vercel, and the click counter stores its rows with Supabase. Both keep their own server logs, which is outside our control and normal for any hosted site.
What we never do
- No advertising or tracking pixels, no remarketing, no data broker, no profile.
- We do not sell, share, or rent anything about visitors, because we do not hold anything to sell.
- Sponsors are told how many clicks a board sent them. They are never told anything about the people who clicked, because we do not know.
